Using sport as inspiration, 78 creatives have been asked to challenge the function of a pair of NIKE shoes. The outcomes of which, shall be showcased in September as part of this year’s London Design Festival. This is a unique design-sport crossover featuring some of the most talented creative individuals, studios and other organisations.
'The festival is a platform for the widest spectrum of design disciplines, brought together as a unique annual programme and we’re delighted NIKE78 will be part of what we’re doing in 2010 – we anticipate a great show.'
William Knight, Deputy Director, London Design Festival
The online gallery launched on the 30th May, coinciding with the original date in 1978 when NIKE became the brand we know it to be today. It is an ongoing documentation that will expose each individual’s creative journey through an online presentation of ‘sport provoking’ outcomes.
